Kfardebian Reading and cultural activities center

Under the supervision of the Lebanese Ministry of Culture and the support of the municipal council of Kfardebian, the Reading and cultural activities center occupies the total area of the first floor of the Municipal Palace and consists of a public library and a cultural activities hall.

The center was opened on December 23, 2002 under the patronage of former Minister of Culture Dr. Ghassan Salameh. The Library was expanded in October 2003 and a youth hall was added in October 2012.

In addition to the library, the center includes a conference room and a theater with modern audio-visual equipment where all kinds of cultural and social activities such as shows, lectures, conferences, seminars and concerts are held.

The library contains more than 6000 French, Arabic, English, German and Spanish, documents and a number of cultural periodicals and magazines, in addition to permanent subscription to the Internet.

Community members of all ages could benefit for free from the library and the center services as soon as they get a joint card that should be renewed annually.

The main objectives of the center is delivering public education through reading and various cultural activities to all citizens of Kfardebian and neighboring villages without any material reward as the municipal council bears all the costs aiming to circulate a cultural policy for all without any discrimination whatsoever.
